In april 2010 I spent two weeks birding and site-seeing in friendly Taiwan and the small island of Lan-Yu. With quite some endemics and other special birds, beautiful mountains, forests and coasts I highly recommend this destination to everyone.

to 29th January 2009 | Birds and nature in Golestan, Iran
In january 2009 a group of 18 birdwatchers from Holland and Belgium were invited by the Department of Environment (DoE) of Iran to help them with the annual waterbirdcount. Iran is rich in wetlands and therefore huge numbers of waterbirds winter there. Edwin Winkel and I counted the wetlands in the Golestan province in northeastern Iran. We also visited the Golestan National Park. The beautiful countryside, the birds and the hospitality of the Iranians did make it a very special trip.

Here are some pictures from our recent birdingtrip to southern Ontario (Canada) and Michigan (U.S.A.). Areas visited included Point Pelee, Rondeau, Niagara Falls, Long Point, Carden Plain, Algonquin Provincial Park in Ontario and Tawas Point and Sleeping Bear Dunes in Michigan.
It was a very succesful holiday with many warbler species, woodpeckers and many more species seen in a relaxing pace. I highly recommend it!

Some pictures of our trip to the far east of Russia in june 2007. It was a fabulous experience to be in southern Siberia around Lake Baikal! Beautiful landscapes, nature and of course....birds!
